i just noticed recently that my clock freezes and the only way to get it back is to logout and log back in. the icons next to it and my Fast User Switching all beachball when i move my mouse over them?? is this a known problem??
edit - soon as i unplugged my iPod it worked.

My clock used to freeze a lot in Jaguar, but not in Panther. This was on an imac G3 though where the battery is dead (as far as keeping the clock up to date) so that might have been an issue. Perhaps it was a network sync issue? I don't know.

I get this problem a lot. It occurs because the iPod is left in the dock, as you noted, removing the iPod fixes the problem.
Send feedback to Apple and maybe it will get looked at.
