I had this weird problem when I tried to import songs from a CD, I sometimes got a message that indicated I did not have the authorization to do so. The CD was not copy protected. I eventually found the solution to this problem and wanted to share it with you.
In this case, this was the David Lee Roth's Skyscraper album. I already had Eat 'em And Smile in my iTunes library. I had to find the David Lee Roth folder in the iTunes music folder and manually change the rights. For some reason, this folder was used by some other system user (you know, like those dozens Mac OS X comes up with, yet you don't know what they are there for) and locked. I had to unlock it, change the rights, type in my password and choose myself as the owner of the folder in order to rip the CD to mp3 or AAC or whatever.
It didn't take me too long to find out but I had to go through several forum subjects before finding out. So I hope it helps you guys.
