OK, I'm wondering if I should just post one big message about all of the little hiccups I've encountered in starting this new job and trying to use my Mac on their creaky network. There are already some on VPNs, and Exchange that I've already posted.
The configuration first:
TiBook, 1GHz, Superdrive, 10.3.5
Windows NT 4, Services for Macintosh (SFM) *not* installed - But! I can still browse the network, open, save and delete files on the server. How cool is that?
Here's the problem: I was able to add the network printers to Print Setup Utility. But I can't print. The message in Print Setup while the job is running says" NT_Status_Access_Denied opening remote file [document name here]".
Our IT guy knows nothing about Macs and is not much help. He says nothing needs to be enabled in my network user account to allow me to print, which I suspect is true. So I'm wondering if this is because SFM is not installed. Any ideas?
The reason why it's not installed, btw, is that it crashed their Exchange server when he did it. Also, it hourglassed on him when he tried changing its Properties. Doesn't help that it's only got 192 MB of RAM, and they're running both Exchange and NT off of it.
Thanks for any help!
