"The page “xxx xxx xxx” has content of MIME type “application/x-oleobject”. Because you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can’t be displayed."

I always get this when i access sites with Windows Media Player videos (in this case a French TV at www.M6.fr), although i have the latest WMP plug-in installed.

Having consulted the "Help/Installed plug-ins" menu in Safari, i can see thse MIME type linked to the WMP plug-in:

Windows Media Plugin
Provides support for Windows Media. — from file “Windows Media Plugin”.
MIME Type Description Extensions
video/x-ms-wm Windows Media wm
application/x-mplayer2 Windows Media
video/x-ms-wmv Windows Media wmv
video/x-ms-asf Windows Media asx
application/asx Windows Media
audio/x-ms-wax Windows Media wax
video/x-ms-asf-plugin Windows Media
application/x-ms-wmd Windows Media wmd
video/x-ms-wmp Windows Media wmp
video/x-ms-wmx Windows Media wmx
audio/x-ms-wma Windows Media wma
video/x-ms-wvx Windows Media wvx

But, no “application/x-oleobject” MIME type. So no WMP videos.

Is it possible to edit the plug-gin, or the MIME type list? Or should I reinstall my WMP plug-in?
Or... is this another trick from our friend Bull gates?

I imagine that would be some Active-X plug in related stuff, which you can only use with Windows IE I'm afraid.

Active X is a proprietry Microsoft technology for embedding content in web pages. There is a Mozilla plug-in for it, but I don't know how to obtain it, and whether it will work with the Mac version.
