Wondering how and where iphoto is storing my pictures. I have searched around and can't seem to find the actual pictures where I expected them - pictures\iphoto library\....

Also, I have over 1000 photos that I have imported into iPhoto - right now they are sitting in a folder in my Documents folder - but I would like to move them into the Pictures \ area. Can I just move them or what do I need to do so that the pointers that iPhoto has created to them get updated?

if you go into your homefolder/pictures/iphoto library is it empty?

iphoto _should_ make a folder for the year, then month, then day when the photo was taken, and your images should be in there.

i think it is weird iphoto is not putting them into it's library folder. if you drag them from your documents folder into iphoto what happens?

Dont drag the iphoto folder anywere, iphoto dosnt like it, use the iphoto application to do the work, importing and changing of preferences (to say were you would like to store the Libary)should be done from the appalication.
