I have been sharing files between my two computers for a long while. The Dual 1Ghz is on Ethernet and the 12" PB is on AE. Right now, both Macs can connect to the internet, but they can't see eachother. Also (and expectedly) Printer Sharing has stopped working.

I have rebooted both Macs and verified their Nework settings (DHCP). I have also restarted my base station.

BTW, my 9/7 security update keeps popping up on SW update. I install it and restart. The next day it comes again.

Any thoughts?

Is there a way to verify that the SW Update is installing properly? My thought is that there is a glitch and the 9/7 update is not installing correctly and therefore corrupting something. I noticed that the update changes some networking stuff.

The update appeared again today. Each time, it looks like I'm installing it, but the next day it shows up again.

Have you tried downloading the update to your hard drive and then installing it from there?

I'll try that tonight.

I do this from a menu, right?

This might be a clue. I tried to DL the update, and I got a message that I didn't have permissions.

I repaired perms from Disk Utility and it seemed to go well. After, the update still gave the same message. Do I need to do the perms from CD?

Anyone feel like laughing?

I couldn't figure this out. SW Updates installed Enet/Airport working. I had never seen this type of thing on a Mac before. After a restart, I went into Prefs to verify that sharing was turned on. As I was looking through my settings, I noticed that my PB had been connecting to and using a neighbor's wireless. DOH!
