Not the process of but the actual time between Syncing and then my .Mac account bookmarks being updated is rediculously long. I've got 20 new bookmarks and it is still showing bookmarks from yesterday and I've synced 2 times today!

Is this normal?

I quit, restarted computer, logged-in, logged-out to .Mac

Another complaint i have about .Mac is why 1/2 the time I click
on anything, I get this "we're sorry we cannot access blah blah"
or a page that just says "No error" What is that?! This site is
really slow. Is this an Apple-run site or what? It is so NOT
Apple. On the bookmark thing, why is it that when I click on
the Bookmarks tab I ALWAYS get directed to the "Welcome to
.Mac Bookmarks" page. Telling me how to use it in the future.

$99 for a less than functional service. Typical Apple.

Yeah, well most likely you have it all configd wrong. I use several .Mac accounts and have never seen anything like you are describing. My bookmarks are avail immediately and I sync them to at least 5 computers. And those errors sound more like general connectivity issues Apple's fault.
Go to System Prefs and click on .Mac. Is your .Mac username and password in there correctly? Now open iSync and click on .mac. Is the computer you are on listed at the bottom? Are all the check boxes checked?

Sounds like an error as well.

This is a computer-generated message and needs no signature.

Have it configured how it needs to be. I've been using iSync with my iPod for over a year so how hard would it be to configure a .Mac account? I've synced all my contacts and iCal with my iPod successfully. I purchased .Mac in order to get virus protection. $70 is worth virus protection. I thought, "I'll never use the .Mac part of my purchase, I already have a system down and know how to ftp, etc. etc." It seems the problem resided in the Apple mac.com site. It consistently doesn't work. I click on Bookmarks and it takes me to an "I'm sorry..." page and that's after, for 100th time telling me how wonderful Bookmarks are and from now on go to this link, etc. etc.

It isn't just Bookmarks, it is Address Book. It hasn't updated that either. I've synced my iPod 4 times today at the same time i've tried to sync .Mac as well. iPod is updated but NOT my $70 .Mac account.

I think it is just complete bull$hit and irritating that the service that I bought, constantly tries to remind me of how fantastic it is and when IN FACT it is broken. Even you are trying to convince me that it is my fault.

hmmm...

It is your fault. I was pretty certain before, but now I'm sure. Take another look at my last post and try setting it up properly. And if you'd like more help, try losing the attitude.

You're offended? Please. You didn't even answer my questions. Where in my last post gave away that I wasn't listening to your possibly helpful response. In fact I had double tried what you suggested even though I had done what you had said before getting a repsonse from you. If you had read what I'm complaining about you would have gotten that I'm not complaining about my set-up being incorrect or jiving - but that the .Mac service is slow or most of the time not working. If you could point out where I am having way too much attitude to realize my mistake then you should have pointed it out. Otherwise I'm still left guessing - leaving me in the same predicament.

It's a good thing I have attitude. Most people these days don't. That's why it's such a boring country and the reason why you signature: Bush Must Go.

Can't wait for the debates on thursday! That's gonna be good comedy.

Offended? Hardly. Just bored by people who are so sure they don't make mistakes that they don't know how to ask for help. You keep insisting that you have everything set properly, yet it ain't workin, so it must be someone else's fault.
How much iDisk space does System prefs say you have?
How many computers are listed in iSync as Registered Computers?
Is your correct .Mac address listed at the top of the .Mac iSync page?
Is your firewall on?
Are you connected to the internet, can you open web pages?

Wow... I certainly wouldn't pay for anything just for virus protection on a Mac. Not at this point in time, anyhow.

Exactly. Maybe it is the crappy McAfee AV causing his problems. Do yourself a favor and get rid of it.

My synching via .mac to all four of my computers has worked great, with none of the problems you are citing.
