Do you have a Memory Stick card reader?
What are you trying to do exactly?
Have you tried 'The Missing Link'?
Have a look on www.versiontracker.com for 'The Missing Link', it helps with syncing Sony PDA's and Macs it may solve your problem.

thank you
I don't have a MS reader. Under windows, when i connect the sony clie to the computer, and with the software sony provided, i can read the MS. but sony don't provide the software under OS. So though I can sync the palm (I think you meant Missing Sync), I can't read the MS. I haven't tried Missing Sync because I have to pay.....

Hi, novocain.
I've researched this problem in the past, and I have yet to find a way that anyone has been able to read a memory stick from a Clié under Mac OS X.
Folks I've tried to help with this problem before who have tired USB card readers that have slots supporting the Memory Stick usually get the "You have inserted a disk containing no volumes that Mac OS X can read" alert when trying to use a Clié memory stick.
Unfortunately, Sony does not make any technical information available on memory stick format unless one has a developer license and I've been unable to find anything about the format on Google.
You might try a Sony USB-based memory stick reader, but I'd contact them first to be sure it works with Mac OS X.
I don't believe "The Missing Sync" will help you either, depending on the version of Mac OS X you are using.
The Missing Sync for Clié -- now considered an discontinued product by Mark/Space -- was broken by 10.3.5: See Information on Mac OS 10.3.5 and the Missing Sync
Unfortunately, I have nothing further to suggest. I think many Mark/Space customers are going to be disappointed unless the company can find a workaround. Since Mark/Space discontinued their product, I would not hold my breath. ;-)

I can read memory sticks OK when they are connected to my iMac via my Sony digital camera.
Are Clie memory sticks different?

Hi, Ian.
It's my understanding that the Memory Stick may use a proprietary format, e.g. not HFS+ or FAT32, and that your digital camera is playing "intermediary" to access the data on the memory stick. I suspect this is the same reason why users with conventional readers on Mac (where there's no client software to specifically access the memory stick) have problems reading them.
As I noted earlier, I've tried to find some info about how memory sticks are formatted, but Sony seems to regard this as a secret only available to those who have a developer license!
