Hello,

My father needs to connect to windows servers for his work. He got a CD (windows only of course) with a Citrix client and a certificate (a .p7b file).

I of course want to use Mac OS X to connect to the servers. so I downloaded the Cirtix client for Mac OS X and I associated the Citrix file type in FireFox. If i logon to the website my father needs to use to authenticate, i get the .ica file (well it is a launch.asp, that i rename to launch.ica)

When I open the Citrix file, i get an error (ssl error 61), when i copy the converted .p7b (i tried to convert it to a .crt, because the Citrix client seems to use these kind of files.) to the Citrix folder -> keystore -> cacerts. Then I get ssl error 43.

Does anybody know how i can install this?

Thnx,

Sjmielh

Are you running this Citrix with Metaframe XP? I know that Metaframe worked under OS 7/8/9 running windows. Is it a remote desktop that he wants to run?

On the website there is mentioning of Metaframe XP. But i don't know i use Metaframe XP. I just donwloaded the client. I don't know if I also have Metaframe XP.

He needs to consult a program running on the server.

I'm guessing that the techs know nothing about macs? I remember being stunned in primary school when these macs with 7 were running windows! so surprised. but anyway, good luck. my knowledge is no deeper than what i have displayed.

I know practically nothing about Metaframe, but I took a quick trip over to the Cirtrix site, and it seems as if the Metaframe server needs to be set up with a certain "Mac OS X Auto Client Update Package" in the client database in order for the Mac OSX client to function. It could well be that in your father's work environment, no one uses or thinks about OSX. From looking at the client feature excel chart on the Mac download chart, it also seems as if the Mac client has quite a bit less features than the other major platforms, such as Java and x86, Linux. If you have VirtualPC, it might actually be easier just to install the Windows client there.
