I got an annoying problem here, it's appearing on X (10.3.5) and in OS9.

I carry around my ibook to my TV to watch movies and stuff. After plugging in the AV-Jack the Ibook switches Monitor-Settings and delivers a nice Video-Signal for TVs etc., you sure know all that.

The annoying downside is: I have to switch to overscan and "optimized for video" EVERYtime i plug in my ibook to my AV-System. There seems to be no saved prefs for the video-mode options.

How to make the overscan / video options to be activated automatically when AV-Cable is plugged in?

I have a computer to do automated stuff, i HATE to manually do the same **** over and over again.

Be sure you close the System Preferences app after making the change, but before disconnecting the TV. It should remember the settings.

Sorry, that's exactly how i do it.

I want to watch a movie.

1. Plug in the AV-Cable into ibook
2. See no Overscan -> do the overscan settings, close prefs
3. Watch movie.

After watching i move my ibook to my workspace again.

Has anyone experienced the overscan-prefs to be saved and coming back when the AV-Plug is used??
