Delete in your bad user folder ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.preferencepanes.cache file

This may work, http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/16494 and may be an overkill. Some of its functions are handy.

Did you delete the com.apple.powermanagement.plist file too ? Although it is a system wide preference file it may have user specific settings, I haven't looked at it to see.

Hmmmmmm, strange stuff, but glad it's fixed now.

I just installed that and it works without problems with energy saver.

I found this an interesting problem, and took a loo at the cornerclick homepage, and then it struck me: The problem could well have been cornerclick OR the screensaver settings, since they interact withe the energy settings prefs and could possibly conflict with either that or even with expose.

I personally avoid using 3rd party haxies when possible, since they do seem to influence the stability of the system on occasion.
weird wabbit

i've been using haxies (shapeshifter, mightymouse, cleardock) for years without problems...

but the truth is, alas,

But the original haxie, cornerclick that started this thread caused you no problem, eh ?

I guess your definition lies in what is a haxie [hack]. I played around with cornerclick long to find it indeed conflicted with the energy settings, but what is it really? It never caused the pref pane to crash for me, but it obviously can, or did, for you.

So shapeshifter, mightymouse, cornerclick, and whatever program can work for many, and cause problems for a few.
