When I changed over to my new machine I brought some of the old users with me. One of them has all my old files and folders. On the old machine that username had admin priviliges, but now it doesn't. The pref pane for current users doesn't include a chance to set user type or pivileges or whatever it's called, even when I access it from root (in th4e GUI). Is there any way to giv e this existing user admin privileges? If I delete the user and save his files, etc. is there some way to give them to a new username so I don't have to do everything as root?

In the Accounts preference pane, click on the user, click the Security tab, and click the "Allow user to administer this computer" box and it will become an admin user.
