Kernal panics from scratched disks?

Hi, I've had several kernal panics that have each occurred after trying to copy or rip files from a scratched audio cd.

I'm usually forced to force quit either iTunes or the Finder to break the continuous attempt to read the files. Not long after the programs quit I find the screen dims with the multi-language "You must restart" dialog.

Is the kernal panic related to these force quits or is it something else I have installed like Little Snitch or SideTrak?

Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks.

Hard to tell what the crashes are coming from, especially when 'haxies' are installed - but instead of force-quitting iTunes or the Finder, just let them time out... they will eventually decide the disk is unreadable.

I'm not making an excuse for OS X - these actions shouldn't result in a KP - but no OS is perfect.

Make sure to send a bug report to Apple, too.
