I just sold this powerbook and I wanted to basically reformat it so that when the new owner gets it they can just turn it on and have it be just like it was when I bought it last month. Is there a way to simply "reformat the hard drive" like on a pc? Starting all over brand new with nothing on it except what came with it from Apple and the OS.

Thanks in advance.

Yea, use the disks that came with the computer, throw the first disk in. It will prompt you to restart. When it boots back up from the disk you should have the option to wipe your drive and do a fresh install of factory settings like when you bought it. Basically, you must be booted from a different volume (like the install disks or an external drive) ... you can't wipe your drive while you are using the drive, capiche ?
