hello all,

Yesterday I wanted to restore my system by using the diskutility restore function.
The problem is that the target field is unavailable (not selectable, so I can't drag the destination disk into that field!)

I booted from the panther CD, and went to diskUtiility, but as described, the restore was unavailable...

I rebooted with the HD to see what's up, and the DU shows the same symptoms...

What's this?

I checked the HDs for any problems and everything returns ok.

What puzzles me is that I booted from a different system (CD) and the DU should allow the restore...

The disks can be erased and are writable.

What can I do to restore my system withou an install (also, how can I sort this problem with the DU?)

This is OS 10.3.4

TIA

It's not selectable here, either, but simply dragging a volume from the left-hand column to the target field works just fine.

you're right, it isn't selectable.

What I meant was that it wouldn't accept any dragging into.

but now the problem was sorted (was related to a keyboard malfunction).

thanks for the reply!
