Changing the Volume Name on a DVD-R .cdr

I want to change the volume name on a DVD I created in iDVD. I used Disk Utility to create a disk image (.cdr). Is there any way to change the file system from read-only, change the volume name, change it back to read-only and them use Disk Utililty to burn to another DVD-R?

Thanks for any suggestions!

From Disk Utility, Images->Convert Image
