I just got a new iBook G4 with Panther pre-installed on it. I also own an older iMac G4 with 10.1 and would like to upgrade it's OS to the one on the iBook. Can this be done with the install/reinstall cds that came with the new laptop? I need to do an update, not a clean install. Thanks!

yep the os x installation cds that came with the new system will work fine. The software retore CDs won't work unless you manually open the images off the disk but that shouldn't matter for you.

uh.....while it may in fact work, it *is* a violation of the license agreement. os x is a *single computer* license unless you purchase the retail "family package."

if you want to install 10.3 on your other computer, go buy a legal copy.
