so all of my fonts (couple hundred, maybe 1000+) are sitting in my Library/Fonts folder... but all of a sudden over the past day or two font book stopped recognizing them, and so did all my apps (most notably photoshop). i dont know why this happened, and ive tried readding them to font book but it doesnt do anything... again, havent really done anything in the past few days but they all just stopped working... ahhh!

You where managing to use Font Book with over 1000 fonts :gasp:.
when It fust arrived I gave it a try added maybe 200 fonts before it got really slow and unstable. Also I didn't really like the way it atually moved the fonts from one place to another in the directory structure.

You have corrupted fonts. You will want to get rid of the font cache, and buy a font screening program (FontDoctor, or FontAgent Pro), and with the amount of money you paid to get 1000 fonts from a reputable font foundry (*hint* *hint*) the cost of either of those programs will be trivial.

thanks larkhost... think ive got everything cleaned up, but as that other person said... font book sucks for all my fonts... what/how do i add them to be recognized by the OS? I know i dont want to use all of them either, and some programs like Word.. wouldnt open when i first added ALL of them.. and i had to disable a bunch of the ones i didnt like.. is there something else i can use to organize and add these all in?

You're gonna have to shell out some $$$ for a REAL font manager app (as opposed to Font Book). I suggest FontAgent Pro.
