I'm running the latest version of Panther on the latest high-end G5 and on the 1.42 G4 duallie. In each of these machines I have additional HDs, 1 in the G5 and 3 additional drives in the G4 (using a Sonnet Tempo). Here's my question. Is it possible to make additional HDs unavailable to different users? So that, for example, when one user is using the machine all of the HDs are visible on the desktop, but when another user is using the machine, only the boot drive is available... or only the boot drive and one other HD?

Thanks for any insights into this you may have.

Have you tried setting the appropriate permissions to the drive in the restricted user's account? I would recommend logging on as the particular user you want to restrict, select the drive you want to limit then File -> Get Info. From the info window, select Permissions and set them as you choose to limit access to this drive.

Thank you for the advice. I'll look into this. I was not under the impression that I could address visibility with the permissions, but I'll give it a closer look.
