Hi All

Since I installed Panther on my powerbook I have been having problems opening certain applications. The application icon bounces up and down in the dock as usual, but then it disappears without opening the program. I have reinstalled Final Cut Pro and a few other applications which seem to be working, however Photoshop and Illustrator (CS) and few other applications are failing to open. I even downloaded a trial version application of Illustrator which does the same thing.

Please could anyone let me know if this has happened to them, and how they managed to fix it!

Does this happen if you create a new user account and try launching those apps from that account? If not, corrupted preferences files may the culprit. If the problem persists, it's something else.

How did you install Panther? Upgrade or archive-and-install? The latter seems to give rise to fewer problems.
