Performe software update today, and just decided to run Diskwarrior, but after inserting cd into my imac/400 Mhz the disk came out after about 10 seconds. Other CDs did the same thing.

Today I did install a 512meg crucial ram. This seems to be fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Reboot again if you haven't already. I installed 10.3.6, restarted and none of my FW devices showed up. A reboot fixed it. Damn that sounds familiar.

But in all fairness, I upgraded from a developer install of 10.3.6

Even though the installer let you, in practice you should NEVER do that because you never know what leftover problems there were. For example, lets say that the prerelease software updated a framework, and then later on they decided to revert back to the previous version. The final update would leave the newer framework because they wouldn't put the older one in because most people would already have it.

Did reboot a few times before the original post, but nothing. Tried force restart with the CD inserted just before restart.

If I go to system profiler I was wondering if I should find the CD player there somewhere. Tried, but nothing looking like the CD player came up.

Lastly, usually when I put a CD into the slot I hear the whirring sound as the cd starts to spin - now there is no spinning, just a few minor clicks and after a few seconds the cd gets spit out.

Thanks.
