Is there any word on improvements on Grab.app in Tiger?

I've Googled and read that it exports in TIFF and PNG (unreliable sources) instead of PDF. Just need more info, or else I'm going to buy Snapz. I'm looking for JPG export, but PNG would work.

Screenshots in Tiger are PNGs now. Not sure why anyone uses Grab.app anymore. Preview has the same functionality as Grab.app now with the exception of choosing which cursor you want to fake.

Also, while it isn't as powerful as Snapz, the Capture Widget for Dashboard allows you to quickly grab a screeenshot in any images format, such as png or jpg. Since it resides on the Dashboard it's quick to access for any screenshot:
