I'm trying to use Apple's X11 implemetation to use X11 apps on my slackware box but for some reason i can't get it to work.

when i log in using the the -X flag and launch xterm i get

X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication.
X connection to localhost:10.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).

and when i log in i'm told that

Warning: No xauth data; using fake authentication data for X11 forwarding.

Can someone advise me? i've looked around on the web, searched the forum and tried the man pages but nothing seems to work or fit this problem.

Probably the file .Xauthority in your home directory has been corrupted. Rename it to something else so a new file can be created, then try again.
