Two months ago I was forced to reinstall OS X on my 15" pb. My question, is it ok to go ahead and delete the previous systems folder from my harddrive? I have copied all of the relative files to my new system, but don't want to make a mistake that could be costly.

Yes, you can delete the previous system folders without incident.
