Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I have several folders of old PC-created PDFs with odd/incorrect file extensions. Is there a way to change the file extensions on all of them to '.pdf' right from the Finder? It would be great if I didn't have to do them one at a time.

Sure, but you'll need to install/activate the "Script Menu"...

Macintosh HD > Applications > AppleScript > Install Script Menu

You'll now notice the AppleScript menu item up in the Finder menu bar. From that menu, you'll want to navigate to the following:

Finder Scripts > "Add to File Names"

That script will execute to add any suffix/prefix to a folder of files, or individual files. Just make sure you have the folder open of the files you want to change at the time of executing the script.
