i just noticed that my signed and encrypted icons in mail.app for new message isn't showing up anymore. i repaired my keychain and it hasn't helped, also i can still see my cert in the keychain, so i know it's there.

has anyone see this before? i have no idea how to fix it other then trying the lenghty process of getting my cert again and putting it in the keychain.

thanks,
-justin

actually, it seems my cert from Thwate expired back in late Oct, i would imaging it should expire for everyone else that got a cert off them when the article was originally posted.

I have a recollection that you need to renew the free email certificates each year - no need to get a new one, just log in to your account and update/refresh.

Don't quote me on this one, please, but it does seem to ring a bell. I only got my certificate this October.

I have just had the same problem. I did need a new certificate from Thawte. Just had to log in and apply for a new one. It was all done fairly quickly and I just had to download it with Firefox as before.

I wish someone would tell me how to get the Thwate personal certificate working through Firefox. It initially worked by way of Safari, but I lost the certificate and it never successfully downloaded again. I've tried Safari, Mozilla, Camino and Firefox multiple times to no avail.

My first one would have expired (same article, same time), but I had already lost it and had reissued last April. And since then I got a new iBook and I can't find a copy of my cert so I need to request another one.
