I have a rev. a Powerbook 12". I installed the update via Software Update. Everything else seems to work well, except that my ethernet card no longer notices when I connect a wire. Normally I would just do a reinstall, but I am in Hong Kong 7,000 miles away from my system disks in California. Aside from buying a fresh copy of 10.3, can anyone think of an alternative solution?

thanks,

Cameron

Repair permissions if you haven't already done so. Check other Ethernet cables and hubs, modems, etc. to be sure it's really your Mac that's acting up. Check for physical damage, dust or any kind of crud in the port. Create a new user account just to be sure it's not a some broken preference file that's giving you trouble. Reset PRAM. Download the Combo update from Apple's support pages and run it. Good luck!
