I received item says I need to install firmware 5.1.8f7 for G5.

I install it, then it checks, and says I need to install it. This goes on in circle.

How to you check to see your current firmware?

Any idea why this is happening?

Thanks,
helps, guess I'm not there yet, I saw some instructions pop up on how to install firmware. It's a real procedure apparently.

Correct. You will find the file/installer that was downloaded through Software Update under your "Utilities" folder...

I see Hard Drive Update 1 in there. If that is it, then why does creation date, and date modified say Jul 3, 2003?

Thanks, I guess it did not make it. There is something just called Installer, but I suppose that's something else.
