I've never really used labels before, but I thought it'd be a better way for me to put my most important files at the top (rather than putting an '!' to bring it to the top).

Anywho, using View Options, and choosing to keep arranged by labels, it still won't sort by labels.

anyone had a similar situation before?

Huh. Well I'll be darned. You're absolutely right -- in Icon view. It just totally ignores the labels, even when set to keep them sorted by label. (I seldom use labels, so I just tested it for you.)

It does work fine in List view by clicking on the Label header.

P.S. A space will also move things up alphabetically without being as intrusive as an exclamation point.
