Besides hardware isolating and testing... I am beginning to believe my kernel panics are either my RAM or software I installed.

How can I get a log and "read it" to decipher what is causing the kernal panics?

Also...
This will be my 3rd swap of OWC ram, AppleCare has replaced my logic board in Sept., my hard drive and cable in November. But no matter what I can find out what is causing my kernal panics. Every time I format, things look good... then out of the blue, kernel panic.

I think it might be my installation disks. On a related note, can Apple replace the grey System Install disks? I lost mine and had to buy a copy of Panther which the disk has been slightly abused.

kpdecode

You can post the output of kpdecode here and some of the guys around here can figure stuff out from that.

I don't know about CD replacing, but if you purchased a copy of Panther, used or not, it would be one of those cases where downloading the disk image from a less-than-reputable source and burning a fresh copy for yourself would be forgivable.

Well, with my purchase of the 15" AlBook... I'm sure there came a set of multiple grey disks (Jaguar, Hardware Test CD). All I can find now is the Hardware Test CD... which provided little to no help as it says my logic board and memory are perfectly fine.

I'm wondering what other CD's are somewhere floating around... what else came in that pack besides Jaguar CD1, 2, 3?

So, it's been a while and with the benefits of keeping a detailed log - I've come to the conclusion that one my apps I have been using is the reason for the panics.

However, something happened tonight and it has me baffled. I've gone all week with a base install 10.3.5 and updated to 10.3.6. Working perfect. Tonight, I install a couple items like VLC, iPoker, RDC, MacTheRipper and DVD2oneX. While using DVD2oneX I get a spill of black background/white text on the Pbook's screen. So I had to force a shut down as the entire system was frozen. I used kpdecode and it says nothing is in the panic.log.

What is going on?

I hate it when panics don't log properly, but it does happen occasionally. Have you tried googling to see if panics with DVD2oneX is a known issue?

I discovered a kernel panic that happens if I watch a DVD (from HD or DVD-ROM, using any player) and use the official Bittorrent client. Never anything in panic.log.

I rebooted, and used DVD2oneX again. Completed with no issues, however this time I installed MenuMeters and I'm not too pleased with my CPU hitting 100% very often.

Could have been a fluke, however I am very very touchy on every system glitch. I just don't know about this Powerbook. It's likely the memory, but I really would like to see a software issue be the culprit.

I was having panic attacks from my powerbook for a while. I reseated the airport card and they stopped.

See my Resolving Kernel Panics FAQ. This FAQ includes step-by-step instructions for identifying and resolving some of the most common causes of kernel panics, as well as details on how to post a panic log for analysis.
Good Luck!

Sounds like... it couldn't find a driver for PCI cards? How strange...
