I was wondering if there is any way to re-map the keyboard so that the delete key is a delete key (rather than a backspace key), and so that the pageup, pagedn, home, and end keys are easier to use?

I know I can use the delete key with shift to get the delete effect, but I want it to be the other way around.

I'm on a PowerBook G4 running OS 10.3.6.

Thanks...

Do you mean a forwards delete key?

I don't know if this is possible... sorry! Do you really use forwards delete more than normal delete?

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.

If you're using an Apple Pro Keyboard, there is a forward-delete key already on the keyboard, labeled "delete" with an icon containing an "X" in an irregularly-shaped pentagon. This key is to the left of the "end" key and below the "help" key, i.e. the second key directly below F14.
Good Luck!

I'm using a PB G4, and yes, I am REALLY used to hitting delete and having the text to the right of the cursor position dissappear to the left.

Having to hold down SHIFT each time is driving me nuts.

Yeah, yeah..... I know I'm a picky SOB....
