Can you get the "Archive" command to omit .DS_Store files?

Does anyone know if there's a way to get the Finder's "Archive" command to create a zip file but exclude .DS_Store and other OS X-specific files from the archive?

I know this is a little far-fetched. Maybe there's another app I'm looking for...
