I get this error dialog box after start up,

The system extention "/System/Library/Extensions/atitvout.kext" was improperly installed and cannot be used. please try reinstalling it.

how do I uninstall it or turn off the extention?

Simply drag&drop its icon to the Trash.
You may want to try to repair permissions with Disk Utility first, it might fix the issue.
