Ok this might be a silly question but I created a computer to computer network using the option in the airport menu and I can't figure out how to remove it!

I've tried powering off and on the airport and it's still there.

Un-check the "Allow this computer to create networks" option from:

System Preferences > Network > Airport

That should get you out of it. Then, once it's gone...you can check that box again to give you access back to creating a network.
