I loved how the 'End' key worked in Windows and I'd like to configure OS X the same way.

For example, if I click end in a textbox of any kind (be it a document, website textbox, etc), the cursor either: does nothing, jumps to the end of the document, etc.

I'd like it ONLY and ALWAYS jump to the end of the line.

MS Office 2004 (Mac OS X) configures the 'End' button this way and I love it!

How do I configure OS X to do the same? I've tried going into Keyboard preferences but it doesn't allow me to configure the 'End' button.

Can't be done by default.

Standard behaviour is to go to the end of the document.

Command-right arrow will do what you want.

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.

Command-Right Arrow and Command-Left arrow will jump to the end and beginning of a line respectively. These work in almost all apps (The one exception is, of course, MS Word. Fortunately it can be reconfigured).

In Cocoa apps, you also have these spiffy controls: Control-E to skip to the end of a line and control-A to skip to the beginning. These are the best, because you don't have to lift your hands from the home row on the keyboard, IMO.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!
