Something strange is going on around here - where are the Tiger feature/speculation threads? Currently there is only one thread mentioning Tiger in its subject, and it only relates to Tiger incidentally. Here, I'll post a question about Tiger: does the Finder menu-task finally? I.E. does a copy dialog update while a Finder menu is open? I know it's a minor concern, but it really bugs me. And for that matter, are there any substantive improvements to the Finder aside from smart folders?

Maybe because anyone who wanted it has it?

As for me, I like to be surprised and enjoy the OS from the get go. The speculation threads typically over-hype features that may not even see the light of day. Especially for Tiger, that is the release date was so far off when S. Job previewed the OS.

It seems most of the Tiger discussion on features and such has ended up here:

Yeah most of it is in that other thread.

It seems the Finder updates instantly now, a welcome addition. Apart from the smart folders, Apple seems content to leave out more advanced features and let Path Finder take up the slack. One things that bugs me is that you have to get info to find the size of a file/folder, why they can't show this info at the bottom of the window along with space available is beyond me.

There's a new Tiger build out now I think, I want screenshots!

MacOS doesn't cache the folder sizes... it adds them up every time. That's why they don't display on the windows...

However, simple fix for Apple to do: start caching them

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.

I think that an air port pref pane should be included in Tiger.

Resizing the UI comes in the version after Tiger. In Tiger they have some of the hooks for resolution independence but not enough to really do what you want.
