When I originally started out I was running Mac OS 9.1. The computer itself is a Powerbook G3 and has some random amount of memory around 300mb. Anyways, when I popped in the Mac OS 10.3 CD (held the "c" key) I went straight to Disk Utility and formated the HDD to Mac OS Extended and checked the option to set the HDD to all zeros. When it was done, I went back to the install and started to go the process. When I got to the step where I choose the installation directory, my HDD (6GB) shows and has the space for OS X, but the little image of the HDD has a red "!" next to it and when I click on the image it shows details below that read "You cannot install Mac OS X on this volume. An earlier version of Mac OS X is not installed." I don't understand the error. The CD isn't an upgrade CD, my computer met the requirements (as far as I could tell), and the HDD is empty (it can't have any problems).
Help?!?
