Does anyone have experience using an OS X install from a G4 and running it on a G5? For example, have you installed OS X onto a firewire hard drive while booted from a G4 and then tried booting the G5 from that install? Or has anyone used CCC to take clone an install from a G4 to a G5?

A friend of mine says it didn't work for him. I'm trying to figure out why and if there is a way to fix it by modifying some files or installing something over the top. Or if it was just a one time thing that he has a problem with and now he thinks it happens every time.

As I have no G5, I can't run any tests so I'm just curious if any of you have had experience.

Hmmm... Dunno, but I've run a G4 install on a G3. I've also run a G3 install on a G4.
