Ok,
I had it working before the last update and now it doesn't work. Any ideas?
I know nothing will secure my computer for certain, and there are workarounds, but a few suggestions would help.
I think the user interface of the Open Firmware Password app is kind of weird. Make sure there is a checkmark next to "Require password to change open firmware settings". Then type in your desired password and click OK.
In addition, the Apple prescribed method of removing an Open Firmware Password requires access to the inside of the machine. If this is a desktop, padlock it.
