I Dragged Internet Explorer into the dock and then removed it from the dock, but now it has dissapeared all together from my Applications folder.

How do i get it back?

The dock has nothing to do with the applications. Simply search for Explorer, find it and move it.

This is a computer-generated message and needs no signature.

Command-F, or open your hard drive icon and in the finder window at the top, type in Explorer.

Whenever anyone asks a question about IE for OS X, the answer I always give is NO! No, no, no, no, a million times no! IE for OS X is an abomination. The dock icons have nothing to do with the applications they represent, but if you really can't find IE, your Mac got rid of it for a darn good reason. It couldn't take the pain anymore. I'm not writing this in a rude manner, but I am quite serious. There are half a dozen terrific alternatives to IE. You should be pointed to this download page for Safari, Mac OS X's preferred browser.

I agree.....why the hell would anyone waste a second looking for IE.

Firefox, Safari, and Camino are infinitely better. There is not one reason to have IE on OS X.
signatures are a waste of bandwidth
especially ones with political tripe in them.

If you'd like to use IE, its likely in your applications folder. if you want the icon back on your dock, you can drag it there from the Finder. doing so has no impact on the actual location of the file, it just makes the app accessible from the dock.

I like safari, but I fill out a lot of forms on line. I hate having to turn to my mouse to use the drop down menus in forms.

Explorer let me search for my country, state, whatever using my keyboard. I never had to touch my mouse when filling out a form.

I thought this would be a simple addition for Safari, but I have been waiting a long time. Every day it bugs just a little bit more.

Firefox can do this out of the box. You might want to give that a shot.

Uh, Safari does remember form information if you tell it to. And you can enable keyboard control of web form widgets in the Keyboard Shortcuts tab of the Keyboard & Mouse prefpane.

A little research goes a long way

a little research? I shouldn't have to do research for something THAT simple. But none the less, thanks for the tip. A huge improvement!

Who would have thunk? I have to go into the system prefs to get that feature.

Is it that hard to do a quick Google search when you can't figure something out? And for the form data thing all you had to do was look in the Safari preferences!

It's not like these things are well-kept secrets.
