I've been having trouble making prints of my digital photos and I think iphoto is causing the hassel.

I put all the pictures I wanted (53 of them) into a folder then burned them to a cd. When I go to RiteAid to have them print them up, The disc read that it had 125 pictures. The pictures had several duplicates.

I was annoyed and didn't have time to go through them all. When I got home I checked my iphoto folder. It still said 53 pictures. I checked the cd, which also read 53 pictures. What's going on? Is iphoto burning a cd that can only be properly read by my computer? Has anyone else had this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

iPhoto's built-in disc burning feature burns essentially a backup of your selected iPhoto images - originals, edits, thumbnails and all.

If you want JUST the images themselves, do this (my little trick):
- pop in a blank CD and let it mount itself in the Finder.
- in iPhoto, select the images you want and choose Export from the File menu. Choose your resolution (choose full size if you are taking the disc to a photo lab).
- save them to your blank CD.

Hope that helps.
- Exit iPhoto and burn the disk via the Finder.

Thanks a lot. I'm surprised I didn't try that yet. I originally thought iphoto was burning a back up for itself...I'll give it a shot. Thanks again.

Here's an even better idea: select the photos you want in iPhoto, pop in the CD-R, then drag and drop! iPhoto will copy JUST the photo files to the media. I just tired this in Toast and it works great too.
