That accounts enhancer looks nice... My G4 just crashed on me and has been acting really strange... I'm in the process of rebuilding everything to a new disk array (A big thanks to vmarks for letting me use his Panther installer while mine is at a friend's house I can't get in touch with). Strange Finder activity involving my disk array powering up and down and the finder going crazy opening up tons of apps at the same time for some unknown reason... Oh well, at least I got my contact and personal stuff back.

Winswitch allows you to modify in the meny bar and it's free.

i see that it modifies the menu bar but i don't see anywherer that itwill actually change the account's shortname...?

Changing the shortname is not really supported. It won't modify your home directory's path, for example, which might be confusing.

If you really want to do it, do it from NetInfo Manager.

Application enhancer did the trick! Man, there are just too many damn good apps out for OS X now... who would have thought?

I'm going to dl that other app too... looks interesting and free (of course)
