Hi all,
I have a little pokey G3 powerbook. I like using speech to have the computer announce certain things to me, which works great...as long as I'm not doing ANYTHING on the computer. If I'm using the computer for anything, the speech is really jerky and cuts in and out to the point where I can't tell what is being announced. The more that I have open, the worse it gets. Is there any way to remedy this?

Sounds like insufficient RAM and/or CPU.

How much RAM do you have?

As for CPU... well, it might be time for a newer Mac!

I'm maxed out on RAM for this thing with 384 MB. Is there any way to give the speech more memory to use without sucking more memory when it's not speaking?
