Having some annoying issues with Airport on my G3 dual USB iBook. I shuttle in between work & home, and both places have wireless networks. At home, it's a completely open network. At work, it's 128bit encrypted. For a while, everything was fine, but recently, it's giving me a lot of trouble to connect to either network.

At home, the network name no longer shows up in the menu. However, if I open "internet connect", I can see it in the menu in there, and select it. When I get home, it's no longer automatically connecting (I'm assuming that's related to it not showing up in the menu).

At work, we've got a cheap Netgear router, and I don't think it allows for password access, instead I have to enter in the entire hex key (a real pain to do over & over again). The computer never seems to remember anymore, and I find myself having to re-connect every time (using internet connect, as this network does not broadcast its ssid). I really want to set this somewhere and forget it.

Anyone have any ideas for this...?

Are there other people who regularly switch between wireless networks with different configurations? Do your computers remember your settings, or is this just a flaw in the OS?

You would be better off posting this in the Networking forum. You would have a better chance of finding the answer than in the MacOS forum. Wish I could help. Good luck.
