Then, they would be in the same position as of now: without sparking interest.

We need Apple to have their own Dell Dude and start making real ads.

Apple doesn't need a Dell Dude, what they do need though is a spokes man that isn't someone who makes people not want to use the platform.

I think those ads are horrible. They really don't show anything that average person would understand. I really don't think if those were on TV that a big interest would have came to apple. They've never really advertised on TV and when they did, it wasn't worth mentioning.

You missed one.

This one is probably my favorite next to the "Zoom" one.

I have to say I liked these ads. They were new and unique and furthered the Apple brand, which is all their advertising has ever done and, in my mind, should do.

They'd have generated a lot of Mac -> PC switchers. No, really, I find them lame.

But thanks for the link. I didn't even know there were those unreleased ads.

What's the song in the "Zoom" ad?

I dig.

I would have to agree with the others and say that I don't think those ads would have helped at all. The way I see it the only people that would really understand what they were about would be people already familiar with OS X. BTW andreas_g4 I that's an awesome sig image .

Now THAT was a waste of adspace. Oh boy, a "X" going all over the place. Said nothing about the operating system or what you could do with it.

I think the "Zoom" one was the worst. Visually, it's impressive, but after it's done, you are left with a feeling of "oooookay, what was that about?"

The one with the "X" going all over the place was pretty bad too.

The Mail ad was pretty good, I thought - it actually explains one of the advantages of the software. The rest don't really do that.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

One of the coolest non-Apple made ads I remember was the one where a teenaged girl is in her room and she is fiddling with her iBook. Her mom yells to ask if she is finished cleaning up her room yet.... the girl then starts dragging and dropping things on her laptop and stuff in her room animates and gets put away. Last thing she does is empty the trash.

I apologize to those who remember the ad for my poor description. You had to have seen it to know what I mean. IMO it was a brilliant ad. Simple, clean and effective.

Anyone know where there is a copy of that floating around on the internet?

Or spokeswoman: how about Mrs. Douglas, the T-Mobile lady?
