unstuffing multipart files under 10.3.7 not working, please help

	i have a multipart file called filename.sit.1.bin, filename.sit.2.bin, filename.sit.3.bin and so forth, when i double click on the first file in that multipart segment, it launches stuffit deluxe and then quits out w/o doing anything, am i doing something wrong? please help. I cannot get this to unextract correctly. can someone please shed some light on whats going on?
