Seem to be getting an endless amount of bugs since I trashed my pref folder.

when I click on e mail link on web page -- does not work anymore.

A little page with A symbol pops up on doc for split second and then disappears -- don't know what it means.

Which "Preferences" folder did you delete? Based on this issue, and your other issues since the removal of that folder, I would suggest backing up your "User" folder and starting fresh again.

You can delete the "Preferences" folder from /Library or you can delete it from Users/Library...
