I don't know if OS 9 will boot from a G5 cpu or not... but for classic all you have to do is drag and drop a system folder in to the hard drive you want to run classic from. You don't have to run an installer.
just a systemfolder..but the folder that's on the install disk is for cd's only. So now i need to find an old mac that runs os9 and copy that folder to a cd?

You are not able to use a regular OS 9 CD but the iMac will have come with a CD labeled "Install additional software" or something similar. This will have an installer for Classic on it.
