Hi, I just brought a latest version of iBook last year december which got 30GB. Strange thing about it is, there is much stuff install in it and not even 1GB of photo or mp3 in the hardrive yet now seem like the memory go right up to 15GB. And also when turn the power manager to the lowest level, the hardisk space seem to drop to 9GB. I'm sure my data on the drive will never be more then 7GB but not it's only 9GB.
Please kindly let me know if anybody know what it's happening.

What you may be referring to is virtual memory swap space. A variable amount of space on your drive will be occupied by the system for virtual memory. That is why if you look at the space available on your drive after your Mac has been on for awhile you will see less free drive space than you first saw when you booted or rebooted your Mac. You can check the amount of VM space being used by going to Utilities and opening the Activity Monitor. Then click the System Memory button and below "Free:" you'll see VM size.
