Lately my computer has been acting up.
at first it was just preview and my macromedia products not working.
Now today. 2 Kernal Panics. and then i get the Your computer needs restarted screen.

i think it might be a virus. buts its odd for a mac virus. I downloaded virus barrier and running it scanning my computer.

is this a virus or am is the computer just being bad

I doubt you have a virus, so forget about that possibility for now.

Try running Hardware Test on your Boot disk. If everything checks out, then try running Disk Utilities.

1) If it were a virus...

The existence of any MacOS X virus would be plastered over the front page of MacNN and every other mac news site.

2) Post your panic.log (if they exist) here and we will *try* to decode them.

You do not have a virus.

You have a hardware problem of some sort. Or, you've installed some nasty system-level stuff.
